December 2 Superintendent Letter to Parents

December 2, 2021

Dear Parents and Guardians,

After much thought and in keeping with placing the safety of our students as our first priority, we have decided to go virtual beginning tomorrow Friday, December 3rd through Friday, December 10th and returning to in-person instruction on Monday, December 13.

We have seen a sharp increase in the number of positive COVID cases. In addition, we are seeing a County-wide increase in not only the number of cases following the Thanksgiving holiday but in the severity of the cases. I understand that this may pose some difficulty with childcare however the safety and health of our students must take priority.

Students will be bringing home their Chromebooks today if they haven’t already. We expect all students to be engaged in virtual learning during this crisis. STUDENTS MUST HAVE THEIR CAMERA ON IN ORDER TO BE MARKED IN ATTENDANCE.

Questions regarding instruction should be directed to your building principal. We will be transporting our BOCES students for special education and vocational education. We will also transport to other out of district programs.

I sincerely hope that this break from in-person instruction will allow us to return to a safe environment. Of course we will deep clean our buildings and busses during this time. I thank you for your understanding.

Sincerely yours,

John C. Morgano Ed.D.,
Superintendent of Schools
