Dear Parents and Guardians,

Our goal is to have all of our students return to in-person instruction just as soon as possible. In order to do this safely, we are going to install plexiglass barriers on student desks and on our busses. This combined with diligent use of masks will enable us to "return to normal".

According to a news publication, we have read that we are receiving about 1.5 million dollars from the federal government for use in addressing needs created by the COVID crisis. This money will be used in implementing our plan to return students to in-person learning.

We expect ALL students to return to in-person learning. Should the needs of a student require that they remain on remote learning, they would be asynchronous so that the teachers can focus on in-person instruction. We are waiting for the shields to arrive. Once they arrive we will move quickly to install the shields and get our kids back in school daily.

This summer Eldred will be offering grade 1 through 12 summer school. I am personally excited about this opportunity for our students.

Finally, our single-use bathrooms have been identified as "Gender-neutral" as required by law. These bathrooms are able to lock from the inside. Teachers have keys so the door can be opened in an emergency. These bathrooms are a small number of our total bathrooms.

This past year has not been easy for anyone. We have in the spirit of cooperation and collaboration made the best of a challenging situation. I thank you and our Board of Education for thinking of our kids first!

Sincerely,

John C. Morgano Ed.D., Superintendent of Schools
