Dear Parents and Guardians,

A number of our Junior-Senior High School teachers and staff members were exposed to a student who tested positive for COVID-19.  Due to this exposure, the Junior-Senior High School will remain on remote instruction for the remainder of this week, Tuesday, March 23rd through Friday, March 26th.   Vo-Tech students will also remain remote this week.

Our elementary school, George Ross Mackenzie, will operate on the Group A/B in-person schedule.  Elementary students are not affected by this incident.

We will continue to transport our out-of-district students to their programs.

The exposed teachers and staff members are required to quarantine for ten (10) days.  It is important that you know, we will continue to provide synchronous remote instruction to all students, unless we are unable to secure a substitute teacher for a class.

Please remember that for participation in synchronous instruction, the student has to follow their schedule.  In order to have an active virtual classroom, please ask your child to keep their camera on and be present for their classes.  Thank you for your help in providing your child with an education in these very difficult times.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Sincerely,

T. Ferreira Sign

Traci Ferreira, Acting Superintendent of Schools
