October 1st Superintendent Letter to Parents

October 1, 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As a follow up to my letter to you yesterday I understand that there is a need for clarification based on the response on the part of several parents.

First, we will revisit our plan to limit changes from one methodology to another. (virtual to live)  (live to virtual) at the end of each quarter.

Second, the principals have the authority to formally change the methodology if this is the parent’s desire and is in the best interest of the student.

The principal can also make an accommodation for a short term illness so that the student can use virtual until their return.

What we cannot do is accept a student opting to stay home on a given day when they are supposed to be in school and the reason is because “I would rather not go in today” etc.

If this were allowed to continue, we would lose a sense of order and diligence and that would greatly impact our goals for academic improvement and learning.

Please contact me if you should have any questions.

Sincerely,

John C. Morgano Ed.D.
