The Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association will proudly honor James Deyermond and Marissaa Gochenour as Eldred's Scholar Athletes on June 4th. This recognition celebrates their outstanding achievements both in the classroom and in athletics, highlighting their dedication, discipline, and leadership.
James has exemplified excellence on and off the field and will continue his academic and athletic career at Williams College, where he will play football.
Marissaa has also demonstrated an exceptional commitment to her academics and athletics and will be attending University of Connecticut this fall.
Both student-athletes represent the very best of the Eldred community, balancing rigorous academics with high-level athletic performance. Their hard work, perseverance, and character make this honor well deserved.

On behalf of the NYSPHSAA, we received congratulations and appreciation for completing the Sportsmanship Promotion Survey—an important step in continuing to build a culture of respect, integrity, and support within our athletic programs.
Our school has earned a Sportsmanship Certificate, recognizing the work we’ve done to evaluate and strengthen our policies, procedures, and expectations for student-athletes, coaches, and fans.
This is something our entire school community can be proud of. Sportsmanship is more than just a game it’s how we represent Eldred every day.
Next steps: Our Section will review all submissions, with select schools earning a Sportsmanship Plaque, and ultimately, one or two schools being awarded the prestigious NYSPHSAA Sportsmanship Promotion Banner Award.
