February 14, 2024 Early this morning, out of an abundance of caution, we called for an ambulance for a student that was impaired and could not actively participate in school. Our nurse provided the support until emergency response services arrived. We take this kind of event very seriously and we are pursuing the cause and origin of the problem and will do whatever it takes to help this student and ensure that this does not happen again. I ask that you understand that I cannot share any more than what I have stated here but rest assured that the safety of your children is our primary concern and nothing will interfere with that goal. Thank you. Traci Ferreira Superintendent of Schools

February 6, 2024 Dear Eldred Community, Today the State Police canine department came to the JSHS to search for drugs at my invitation. We have had the canine units search this building in the past and I feel that there is still a need to continue this practice. Last week, we had an incident at the high school where a student had to go to the hospital following a drug ingestion. I plan on having the dogs in again in the future. My goal is to make our high school and district as safe for your child as possible. Drugs cannot be tolerated in our schools. Thank you for your continued support and everything you do. Sincerely, Traci Ferreira, Superintendent of Schools
